I can't write, and it scares me. The one thing that I have always had is the ability to express myself in words. I can't anymore. My well is dry and it worries me. I have lost all my words and my tongue. I guess I am just out of practice. I need to get back to what I was. Force feed me please. Give me things to write about... I miss the release and the free flow of ideas...

Adventures in Cart Pushing I

Seriously, I had heard stories about all the weird things that happen on a Wal-Mart parking lot, but I never honestly believed them. Every once in a while now though, I will relay the adventures I have working at a Wal-Mart directly to you, my readers. Believe it or not, I actually love this job. I never thought that I could find a job where I was paid to work out. The things that happen on the parking lot are beyond belief but too funny not to pass on.

The week after Christmas was a busy one. We were busting our butts as usual. The carts were going out faster than we could push them in. I had been cart pushing for less than a month, and today this day would would prove to be pretty weird. You see, we find all sorts of things left in the parking lot, and in the shopping carts. Items range from purses and wallets to sunglasses and babies diapers. Today though, we found dinner...

Someone had the nerve to leave an unplucked chicken in a bag in a shopping cart. WTH? I mean seriously, what did they expect us to do with this? We told the CSS about it, and even they were puzzled. Little did we know that an odd co-worker from the Garden Center would have the solution... He would take that chicken and put it out on a log where the hawks, or something could get it...

I am so happy I landed in a country Wal-Mart. The characters and circumstances are hard to match... I hope over the course of the next months to show just what a fun and interesting place I work at...

Season's Change

So much for updating this blog once a week... hehehe... Maybe, just maybe I will be on top of things again. I freed up about 60 hours a week by giving up my job at the Church for Lent. I will always be a youth minister, just never on a parish staff again. It is just too demanding and the politics of parish life is enough to challenge even the strongest faith (not saying mine is stronger than anyone else's, but I do have a deep seeded one).

It is supposed to be spring, but I think the news said it was about 13 degrees outside and we are under blizzard conditions. I love days like this when I am just stuck in the house with Mikey and da momma. We all took a three hour nap this afternoon after doing the pre-admittal to the hospital. We are all excited and nervous about little Gabby's birth. We know that God will not give us anything that we can not handle, but we really are struggling with the timing of things.

My job at Wally world is still awesome. I love allowing my brain to rest and working out my body. I have not been this sore in a while, but my mind feels fresh and relaxed each day when I sit down to do other things. I am looking forward to progressing up the ranks there. It is so nice to have a job that is not dependent on charitable giving or DOD funding (both of which our current president looks zero out).

Maybe I will post something of substance tomorrow, or perhaps I won't. I really am enjoying having time to focus on the things that I like...

Arne Duncan, Our New Secretary of Education

Will fit right into the Obama administration... All talk, no walk (Can you imagine the MSM uproar if this were the Catholic School System in the US?). I am just amazed at the intelligence and judgment of our new President:

http://cbs2chicago.com/investigations/Painful.Lessons.Abuse.2.931134.html

From the Article:
"Any founded allegation where an adult is hitting a child, hitting a student - they're going to be gone," Duncan said.

But that's not what happened under Duncan's watch. Of the 568 verified cases, only 24 led to termination. Records show one teacher who quote "battered students for several years" was simply given a "warning" by the Board of Education.

Well... I guess they have no evidence Duncan is a tax cheat... Yet...

I survived

Roe vs. Wade
Thanks Mom!

We're screwed...

1/20/2009... the beginning of an error.

Today

Today was a great day.

My wife took the oath of allegiance with 204 other people from 58 countries aside from the Philippines (it was a moving experience to see). I was proud of my wife, and the others who chose to come here the legal way. We went to our favorite Japanese restaurant, Ai, to celebrate.

I am still amazed that people want to just hand citizenship to some, but had my wife or I had to go on welfare in the first three years she was here she would have been deported... Come here the right way and I have no problem with it. Disregard our laws, and sorry you are here illegally and we have a right to send you packing.

It is hard to top that, but something did. I saw the ultrasound pictures of my daughter. Due in May, this healthy little girl is bound to turn my world upside down, and I am looking forward to it.

It is too bad that it looks like BHO is going to be bad for the most vulnerable among us. Overturning the Mexico City Policy and sending our tax dollars over seas to fund abortions just sickens me. Should abortion be legal... No, but that is something states should be allowed to decide, not handled at the federal level... 1/20/2009... the beginning of an error.

Been a While

So a lot has happened personally since my last post. I hope that I can at least update this blog once a week. I hope to eventually get back to daily postings, but for now, with all that I am doing, once a week will have to suffice.

Since my last posting a lot has changed in my life:

My wife and I lost child number 3 to a miscarriage. We lost number 1 (Linus) to a miscarriage a few years back, then had Mikey. Now we have lost another to miscarriage (we have not named him or her yet), but remember that whirlwind trip to San Francisco and Northern Arizona we took in August? Well looks like that is when we conceived "Pinetop" (he/she is due in May).

Also, on the advice of some liberal friends of mine I switched majors to Political Science. They say that when I talk about things political I light up. Whether they agree with me or not they at least want to go and dig into things deeper. After the ass drubbing Conservatism took in the election cycle and a lot of reflection and prayer I decided I like political discussion and commentary a lot more than Calculus.

One of the consequences of the election of a typical tax and spend uberlib is that charitable donations go down. So much money is taken out of the pockets of individuals by the government by force, that they can no longer give what they want to charities by choice. My position at the Church is being cut, and post me it may be altogether eliminated. Sad, but unfortunately true. As a result, I had to find another job.

I found that Wal-Mart is not just a place that ticks off liberals, but it is an amazing place to work. I picked up a full time job pushing carts since my donation based salary at the Church is going to be cut, if not outright eliminated. They offer some amazing benefits that our growing family can use and they are not unionized (although if Obama and the libs get their way via card check, it might be).

Ah well... 2009 should be an interesting year. I hope I am wrong, but I project the following:
  • Despite the hopeychangey talk, our new POTUS will be more of the same, as evidenced by his cabinet choices so far (Clinton 3.0)
  • 52% of Americans will have succeeded in taking away 100% of the populations liberty, but they may realize that despite new people being in charge, socialism will still fail.
  • People will long for a return to the good old days under President Bush.
  • In 2012, President (fill in name of Conservative) will commute President Obama's sentence to time served (the only person in history to be surrounded by as much corruption and slime and come out unblemished is Christ, and hopefully we realize Obama is not Christ).
  • The US will still be the greatest country on Earth, despite Reid, Pelosi and Obama's best efforts to turn us into the French (okay, so I hope I am right about this one).
I predict outrage and protest from my liberal readers in 4...3...2..

Prayers,

Pisio
